Running 18 Miles Through the Civil War
This weekend I returned to my old hometown of Marietta, GA, for my best friend’s wedding. The wedding was awesome but so was the chance to run some of my old stomping grounds.
My house used to be right next to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. There’s a fairly decent-sized trail system that winds through some beautiful, lush Georgia pine forest. So I got up early and eager...
8.05 Miles To Shake The Legs
I’m catching up on a few past posts. This was last Tuesday.
After a long, tough weekend, it was good to get out and have a relatively easy run. Started out from work and headed to the fields by the East Boulder Trail system. It’s one of my favorite places to go just because you run on single-track cut straight through these large hay fields. I always imagine I’m a teenager...

6.38 Miles on the Hudson, NYC
Got to NYC on Wednesday for work, and I’d been dying for a run. But between 5 am alarms to catch flights and long nights working, I hadn’t gotten a chance to get out. Finally this morning I got over to the path that runs ups the west side of the island and opened ‘er up. I got going at a pretty fast clip.
Got a chance to test out my new New Balance Minimus road shoes too. They...

Crap to the Future
While watching sci-fi movies, one issue has always troubled me: the date.
For some reason, movies set in the future without fail predict that in approximately 30 to 40 years we’ll have be living in a completely foreign society—technologically and socially. Flying cars, sweet government-issued white robes and sneakers, laser guns and palatial temples that house nefarious officials in sprawling,...
yahkeema asked: Andy,
I know you went to the Creative Circus and you seem to be one of the stand out alumni. I got accepted last year, but couldn't go right away. Luckily, things took a turn for the better, and I'm set up to start this summer.
BUT, I also applied to a few of the other ad schools, and it doesn't help that I can be pretty indecisive. Why'd you pick...

Eloquent Idiot Bard: A Poem
Just found this poem I wrote a while back about a former roommate. It was an entertaining time in my life.
Eloquent Idiot Bard O, eloquent idiot bard, Burning on into the night. Dreams three feet deep, Groping at tree branches and imagining highways, Drinking up the spice mulled wine in August. Here’s where your branches lead. They tangle into great yarn balls in the grandiose darkness. You cast...

Change Changes Things
It’s official. I’ve retired my old Chronic Cerebral Evacuations blog. You know why? It wasn’t cutting it.
I started CCE back way back in 2007 while I was a student at The Creative Circus. Its purpose was to force me to write every day. Blogger seemed like most intelligent service to use. But things changed.
The blog’s title and design didn’t fit into my online branding anymore.
I wasn’t writing...
